Lead Project Manager

The Lead Project Manager is a hands-on position to deliver business financial results that meet or exceed JR's expectations for awarded projects. The successful candidate will actively lead critical Business Unit (BU) projects with the cross-functional team through JR's Project Execution Process (PEP) with overall responsibility and authority for project performance throughout the project life cycle including but not limited to:  order acceptance, concept and final design, equipment build, run-off and installation at the customer facility.

The Lead Project Manager will also need to have an in depth understanding of the financial details and budget of each assigned project.  Partnering with the Program Management Office (PMO) to maintain and continuously improve standard project management processes supported by tools and measures linked to corporate strategies. 

  • Mentor and coach project managers and subordinates, especially in requirements definition, compliance, planning, costing, and risk management
  • Perform project audits to ensure adherence to the JR Project Execution Process (PEP).
  • Partner with PMO to create a reporting mechanism to provide schedule and budget status to management
  • Partner with PMO to Facilitate key project / program / portfolio reviews with management
  • Work with BU management to ensure that all projects are properly staffed at project kick-off.


  • Bachelor’s degree or 7+ years of applicable experience within the industrial automation or comparable industry managing complex projects.
  • 3+ years of experience leading project managers preferred.
  • Must have experience in direct customer commercial management and cross-functional team leadership.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification preferred.
  • Moderately advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office

Preferred Skills:

  • Technical/Engineering experience highly preferred
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification highly desired
  • Proven track record of successfully communicating both formally and informally with senior executives, peers and subordinates
